Nalgonda police destroy 80 modified bike silencers

Hyderabad: Nalgonda Police on the orders of District SP Sarath Chandra Pawar have destroyed the banned silencers of 80 two-wheelers during a special drive on Saturday.
The special drive was carried out at clock tower intersection in the city where they used a road roller to crush the illegal silencers.
SP Sharath Chandra said, "for the past few days, modified silencers are causing sound-pollution and disturbance to the common public with loud noises."
The SP warned two-wheeler riders against using modified silencers and advised on the use of company supplied silencers. "Any alteration of the silencers will result in registration of criminal cases," he said.
"If modified silencers are used, the driver's license will be canceled and the vehicle will be seized," the SP warned.
In addition, DSP Ramulu Naik said that everyone can contribute to the prevention of accidents and urged the citizens to report the sale and purchase of the illegal silencers.
