Nalgonda: A woman died on the spot, and her husband sustained severe burn injuries from an electric shock in Ammagudem, Kanagal mandal, on Sunday. Macherla Manisha, 19, lost her life, while her husband, Anji Babu, 24, was critically injured when an iron pipe on their tractor accidentally touched an 11 KV power line hanging at a low height. The couple was married for just four months.

The iron pipe was attached to the tractor's trolley to transport more fodder. As the couple was returning home from their agricultural field, the pipe came into contact with the live wire.

Anji Babu was taken to a private hospital in Nalgonda, where his condition is reported to be critical. Villagers blamed Transco officials' negligence for the incident.

Manisha's body was shifted to the mortuary at Nalgonda Government General Hospital for autopsy. Kanagal police have filed a case and started an investigation.
