Hyderabad: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) donated a new night house with a kraal (land enclosed by a fence) to the Nehru Zoological Park here, on Friday. B. Anil Kumar, executive director and head for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at IOCL, handed over the facility to Dr Sunil S. Hiremath, curator of the zoo.

The IOCL Telangana and Andhra Pradesh office came forward to sponsor the night house to house two greater one-horned rhinos at the zoo park. This new facility will help protect the rhinos and support breeding activities in the zoo.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Kumar said IOCL was privileged to sponsor the night house and appreciated the zoo for safely housing more than 194 species of animals. Nehru Zoological Park houses five greater one-horned rhinos and successfully bred them. Dr Hiremath thanked the IOCL for sponsoring the construction of the night house at the zoo.
