Nizamabad: Panchayat Secretary held in bribe case

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Thursday caught Esapalli Naveen Kumar, a Panchayath Secretary of Nandipet Mandal in Nizamabad district, red handed when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.8,000 at his office from a complainant for doing an official favour.

Kumar allegedly demanded a bribe to upload the new house number of the complainant online. The tainted bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Kumar. His trouser and right hand fingers and the contact portion of the trouser tested positive.

The ACB officials said Kumar performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. They produced Kumar before the special court for ACB cases in Hyderabad and remanded them to judicial custody. In case of demand of bribe by any public servant, the ACB requested the public to contact toll free number-1064 for taking action as per law. The name and details of the complainant or victim will be kept secret.
