Hyderabad: In response to recent demolitions conducted by HYDRAA, the Commissioner A.V. Ranganath issued an official statement on Sunday addressing the actions taken in various locations.

Commissioner Ranganath clarified that the demolitions in Madhapur Sunnam Cheruvu and Mallampet Cheruvu in Dundigal involved structures that were either under construction or situated in Full Tank Level (FTL)/Buffer Zones without the necessary permissions. Specifically, the structures demolished at Ameenpur were primarily compound walls, rooms, and sheds encroached upon by former Andhra Pradesh MLA Katasani Ram Bhoopal Reddy.
The demolished sheds and hotel in Sunnam Cheruvu were being used commercially and were located within the FTL. In Mallampet Cheruvu, Dundigal, seven villas still under construction (and unoccupied) were demolished as they were located in FTL and lacked proper building permissions. Criminal cases have been filed against builder Vijay Lakshmi and former MLA Katasani Ram Bhoopal Reddy for their involvement in these violations.
The Commissioner assured the people of Hyderabad that no occupied houses will be demolished. Properties that are occupied, even if they fall within FTL/Buffer Zones, will not be affected.
However, the public is advised against purchasing any properties located in FTL/Buffer Zones of lakes. For those who have doubts about whether a property falls within these zones, please consult the HMDA lakes website or contact our office for clarification.
