Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Monday said the people in Telangana lost nothing except for four jobs in a leader’s house.

In an oblique reference made by the former Chief Minister and BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) that the people know what they lost in 10 months, he said unemployed youth got jobs and farmers were relieved from the mounting debt burden by the farm loan waiver scheme in the 10-month tenure of the Congress government.

He was speaking after handing over appointment orders to the newly recruited Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors (AMVIs) here. He said 1.5 crore women benefited from the free TGSRTS bus travel scheme. Now the debt ridden RTC is also earning profits, he said, adding that as many as 49.90 lakh families were the beneficiaries of 200 units of free power supply scheme.

Distributing cooking gas cylinders at only Rs 500 and enhancing Arogyasri scheme limit to Rs 10 lakhs for medical treatment apart from promoting 21,000 teachers were crucial initiatives taken by the Congress government, which also has the credit of transferring 35,000 teachers.

Revanth Reddy said KCR constructed the Secretariat and Pragati Bhavan for 'Vaastu' reasons and no residential school was built during KCR rule. The Congress government started the construction of Young India Residential Schools in 100 constituencies.

“We are providing quality education which will only build a strong Telangana society,” he explained, stating the State government successfully conducted examinations for 563 Group I posts despite creating many hurdles.

The government would give appointment letters to the selected candidates soon and make them partners in the reconstruction of Telangana, Revanth Reddy said. The State government supported farmers and the unemployed in 10 months and also providing quality education to students. “We have done all these things as part of the reconstruction of Telangana. No one is feeling sad about your (KCR) absenteeism. Telangana society already forgot you. People do not require your services,” he said.

“Hoping for a change in you and supporting the government for doing good for the State, he appealed to give suggestions of any mistakes in the governance,” he said.

“We have seen absentees in schools. Witnessing a strange situation that the main opposition leader is not attending the Assembly session,” Revanth Reddy said. The people’s government filled 50,000 vacancies within 10 months after coming to power.

“We witnessed happiness in the eyes of parents of the unemployed by handing over appointment letters to the newly recruited persons at the LB Stadium. It is the most satisfying moment for me,” he recalled. Appealing to the newly recruited AMVIs, he asked them to speak to the students and unemployed in their villages concerned and inspire them to prepare for competitive exams.

“Build confidence among the youth about the importance of education, which only gives recognition and respect, and also repose faith in the government,” he added.
