Adilabad:Former minister Jogu Ramanna on Friday alleged that the Congress government waived crop loan for just 55,961 farmers out of a total of 1.20 lakh farmers in Adilabad district in three phases.

He said there are 1.64 lakh farmers and among them, 1.20 lakh took crop loans. He alleged that nearly 10,000 farmers still run from pillar to post to confirm whether their crop loans were waived off or not.

Speaking to media, Jogu Ramanna said the state government failed to implement the crop loan waiver without any restrictions as they had promised before the elections and asked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to announce the criteria they have followed for implementing the loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh.

He said they would visit villages and collect details of farmers who got crop loan waivers and who did not. He recalled that the BRS government gave nearly Rs 3,600 crore towards Rythu Bandhu itself in a year to the farmers of erstwhile Adilabad district.
