Hyderabad: Cyberabad police launched Operation Muskaan-X on Monday to rescue children who have been forced into begging, trafficking and bonded labour.

DCP of Cyberabad Women and Children Safety Wing K. Srujana said Operation Muskaan-X will go on till July 3. This initiative aims to rescue and rehabilitate homeless children, Srujana said.

For the operation, 11 teams have been formed, each consisting of one sub-inspector and four police constables, including one woman constable.

Srujana said the police would use facial recognition software DARPAN to identify the missing children.

The DCP requested all stakeholder departments to cooperate with Operation Muskaan-X.

Cyberabad police have already identified hotspots where children were found forced into labour, based on data from previous cases.

"Our teams, along with other stakeholder departments, will coordinate to rescue and rehabilitation the children," added

Inspector, of the anti-human trafficking unit, B. James Babu, who was present at a convergence meeting on Monday, said his department will also be coordinating with Cyberabad police in the operation.
