Akeru Vagu washed away a bridge at Mulkalapalli in Dornakal mandal, cutting off the road connectivity between Dornakal and Khammam. The roads between Chinna Guduru and Uggampalli, and Maripeda and Mahbubabad were also under water.

With rain subsiding from Sunday evening, South Central Railway (SCR) officers carried out repairs to the track at Kesamudram, Intakanne and Thallapusalapalli using two cranes and 300 workers. The officials said the rail services would be restored from Tuesday evening.

Fiftytwo lakes have breached their banks, and more than 1,000 waterbodies were brimming with water. Irrigation officials set about plugging the breaches.

In Mulugu district, a portion of the National Highway between Thadvai and Pasra was washed away. The water in Dayyala Vagu, Jampanna Vagu and Geedi Vagu are stated to be at dangerous levels.

The officials appealed to the people not to visit the Laknavaram lake, the Ramappa temple and lake and the Bogatha waterfalls.

RTC officials cancelled 208 services including for Mahbubabad to Khammam and Warangal, Thorrur-Hyderabad and Narsampet to Warangal. This is seen to cost the corporation Rs 40 lakh.
