Hyderabad: The task force on Friday arrested four persons for diverting the attention of their targets and looting gold and other property. Police seized 8.82 lakh worth of stolen property from the accused: gang organiser Irfan of Gokulpur, northeast Delhi; autorickshaw driver Mohammed Feroz of Borabanda; Shakir and wife Rubi, both from Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the gang looted passengers that they picked up from bus stations and railway stations in Feroz’s autorickshaw.

Police said that while Feroz drove the vehicle, Shakir and wife Rubi would mingle with the passengers. Along the way, Irfan would also board the vehicle. Shakir and Rubi would then persuade the passengers to keep their luggage at the back of the vehicle, from where they would steal valuables. After the theft, Feroz would stop the autorickshaw saying there was a problem, and the gang members would escape.
