Hyderabad:Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday extended financial assistance to a physically challenged shop owner from Kusumanchi mandal in Khammam district. The shop owner, Vaditya Rambabu, who hails from Lokya thanda, has been running a cellphone in the Kusumanchi mandal headquarters, supporting himself without relying on his family.

Tragedy struck recently when Rambabu’s shop was destroyed in a fire caused by an electrical short circuit, resulting in an estimated loss of around ₹5 lakh. The incident left Rambabu devastated, as his primary means of livelihood was reduced to ashes.

Upon learning of the incident, officials from the I&PR department informed minister Srinivas Reddy. Moved by Rambabu’s plight, the minister provided financial assistance of ₹50,000 to help Rambabu rebuild his shop and restart his business.

This timely support from the minister was widely appreciated by the local community, as it not only provided immediate relief but also demonstrated the state government’s commitment to aiding those in need. Rambabu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the minister for the assistance.
