Premsagar: Mancherial Municipality to Be Upgraded

 Adilabad: The state government is set to upgrade Mancherial municipality into a Grade-1 municipal corporation, with an official notification expected within 10 days.

The corporation will include Mancherial and Naspur municipalities, along with six gram panchayats — Vempalli, Chandanapur, Namnur, Mulkalla, Gudipeta, and Narsingapur — from Hazipur mandal. District officials have already submitted a report on its geographical area, population, and economic viability.

Rao outlined plans for loans from Hudco to support infrastructure improvements and reiterated his commitment to transforming Mancherial into a hub for education, health, industry, and agriculture to create employment opportunities.

Ongoing projects include a Rs 250 crore super speciality hospital, a mother and child care health centre, the Young India Integrated Residential School, and an international fish pond near the Sripada Yellampalli irrigation project.
