Hyderabad: Justice T. Vinod Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the HYDRAA against taking action against Anurag University, and Gayatri Educational Trust — belonging to BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy till August 30 and issued notices to the HYDRAA and the state government.

The court also directed Special Government Counsel S. Rahul Reddy to furnish the “Lake Memoirs”, which are in the Jala Soudha, before the court by August 30. The judge observed that the Lake Memoirs have all the details of the lakes in the city and will solve the issue once and for all.

The judge was dealing with petitions filed by educational institutions owned by Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, viz., Gayatri Educational and Cultural Trust, Anurag University, and Neelima Institute of Medical Sciences, established under the NMC Act.

The writ petitions sought directions to HYDRAA against taking any coercive steps against the structures of its educational institutions located on the land admeasuring 17 acres and 21 guntas, falling in different survey numbers of Korremula village, Ghatkesar mandal, Medchal Malkajgiri district.

Appearing for the petitioner, senior counsel S. Niranjan Reddy informed the court that the petitioner was not put on notice before the HYDRAA intended to demolish the alleged illegal structures of the educational institutions.

He argued that the HYDRAA cannot take a unilateral decision of arriving at the decision that the petitioner has constructed its buildings within the FTL of Nadem Cheruvu / Nalla Cheruvu, Venkatapur village, Ghatkesar mandal, without issuing a notice to the petitioner.
