Hyderabad: Following Tollywood actor Allu Arjun's private security personnel allegedly manhandling people who had gone to the Sandhya theatre for the premium show of Pushpa-2 on December 4, where a stampede resulted in the death of a woman and grievious injuries to her son, the police on Sunday warned bouncers and private security personnel against taking matters into their own hands.

The police said in a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) that they would take stern action against bouncers if they violated rules. The police have framed guidelines for institutions to register themselves to hire bouncers and private security personnel.
Sources said that senior officials had started verifying the details of institutions which had registered their details with the police as well as those operating without authorisation by illegally hiring bouncers and private security staff. "We will initiate searches on illegal institutions,” sources said.

Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand on Sunday, during his annual briefing of the media, explained that bouncers had indulged in violating rules by physically harassing the crowd.

"Every institution hiring bouncers and private security must be registered with the police," Anand said. Failure to do so would be in violation of the law.
