Renowned Folk Artist Mogilaiah of ‘Balagam’ Fame Passes Away

Warangal: Renowned folk artist Mogilaiah (67), who gained widespread fame for his emotional performance in the movie Balagam, passed away in the early hours of Thursday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Warangal. He had been battling kidney and heart-related ailments for some time.
Mogilaiah touched audiences with his soulful song during the climax of Balagam, which became a massive success.
Despite receiving financial assistance from prominent figures such as actor Chiranjeevi, Balagam director Venu, and Telangana Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Mogilaiah’s health deteriorated in recent days. His family rushed him to a private hospital in Warangal when his condition worsened, but he passed away during treatment.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar had recently pledged to build a house for Mogilaiah and his wife after honoring them with the Ponnam Sathaiah Award. Mogilaiah’s demise has cast a pall of gloom over his hometown of Duggondi.
Balagam director Venu and producer Dil Raju expressed their heartfelt condolences.
