Repair to breach to old canal of Palair reservoir completed

Khammam: Officials completed temporary repairs of a breach to the old canal of Palair balancing reservoir on Friday, allowing resumption of supply of water for irrigation.

The canal was breached on September 1 due to heavy rain and water release was immediately stopped.

The repair work was taken up on September 4 and completed within 15 days. The canal supplies water to about 20,000 acres.
