Residents evacuated from tilting building in Madhapur

Hyderabad:Thirty residents were evacuated from their five-storey building which began tilting towards the left at Siddiquenagar of Madhapur on Tuesday evening. As soon as reports reached them of the building tilting, GHMC zonal officers, fire personnel, and Disaster Response Force officials reached the spot to enable the safe evacuation of residents.

HYDRAA teams reached the spot and will be razing the structure. HYDRAA chief A.V. Ranganath said the foundation of the building could have been affected as a result of earth excavation work being carried out for a neighbouring building.

“We will be razing the structure down in the or Wednesday morning,” Ranganath said. “We have evacuated the people living in the adjacent building.” He said action would be taken against those who caused damage to the building.
