Revanth Asks Officials to Speed Up Green Pharma City Works

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday instructed officials to expedite the development of the ambitious Green Pharma City on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The Green Pharma City is set to be developed at Mucherla, spread across Rangareddy and Mahbubnagar districts and is envisioned as a comprehensive hub for drug manufacturing, biotech, and life sciences companies. Emphasising the need for incorporating the latest global technologies, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of making it a model for pollution-free industrial development.

He stressed that the advancement of industries within Green Pharma City should occur without causing any inconvenience to the surrounding communities. He directed authorities to ensure that those who had lost land due to the Green Pharma City were given a stake in the project's growth.

The Chief Minister also urged officials to initiate the construction of roads, drinking water supply, electricity, drainage systems, and other critical infrastructure as soon as possible.

The directives came during a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Monday, where the Chief Minister, along with Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu reviewed the plans and progress of the project.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, TGIIC MD Vishnuvardhan Reddy, CM’s adviser Vem Narender Reddy, government adviser Srinivasa Raju, CM’s principal secretary V. Seshadri, CM’s special secretary Ajith Reddy, and Rangareddy collector K Shashanka.

Revanth Reddy said that several prominent pharmaceutical companies had expressed an interest in investing in Green Pharma City. He said that the government would maintain close communication with these companies to ensure their participation in the project.

In addition to manufacturing, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of research and development within Green Pharma City.

He revealed plans for the establishment of a special university dedicated to research, training, and skill development in the healthcare and pharma sectors.
