Hyderabad: Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of trying to introduce a “One Nation-One Election” (ONOE) to retain power at the Centre for the fourth consecutive term, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday called upon Congress MLAs, ministers and TPCC leaders to take the Congress government's people-friendly schemes to the notice of people through door-to-door campaigns.

Speaking at the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting held here on Sunday, the Chief Minister cautioned the party leaders and cadre on ONOE being pushed by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. “Modi is trying to retain his power at the Centre by bringing ONOE in the country,” he said.

"Mahesh Kumar Goud has taken charge as TPCC chief at a time of historic need to defeat Narendra Modi. Congress leaders, MLAs, ministers and cadre must work hard in taking the Congress' activities and government's schemes to people's notice by educating them on the people-friendly government schemes and their implementation," Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister also reiterated that the state government was committed to conduct BC caste census and provide benefits based on census reports. The state government has appointed the BC Commission and its board to speed up the process in Telangana.

“AICC leader Rahul Gandhi also promised the same to enumerate BCs during his Bharat Yodo Yatra. The government has formed a ministerial sub-committee under the leadership of Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on the implementation of SC classification. The committee would study the Supreme Court judgment and give a report to the government.”

“In nine months, I never took a single day off and focused on bringing transparency to the government. No state government in India has waived Rs 18,000 crore farmers' loans in 27 days. The state government is aimed at free farmers from debt,” Revanth Reddy said.

On the government’s health initiative, he said: “We will provide digital family cards, family health cards and the families that obtain digital cards can get ration material from anywhere in the state."

The CLP felicitated Mahesh Kumar Goud and passed a resolution thanking AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge, and AICC leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for appointing him as the TPCC chief.
