Hyderabad:The BRS on Wednesday levelled serious charges of corruption against the Congress government and accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of complicity in corrupt deals. BRS leader and the party’s working president K.T. Rama Rao also demanded that the government make public probe report into the accident at Sunkishala pumphouse in August.

Rama Rao also said that Revanth Reddy had “raised a hue and cry over a small problem at Medigadda barrage. My suspicion is that the Congress probably had a ‘hand’ in what happened there. And now they don’t want to take up repairs. Why is that so?”

Addressing a press meet, Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government unveiled large scale corruption in handing over contracts and said more scams were in the offing including the decisions to bring Godavari water to Osmansagar and Himayatsagar reservoirs from Mallannasagar instead of from Kondapochamma reservoir, the Musi river project, and the Kondangal-Narayanpet Lift Irrigation Scheme.

“There is a Rs 5,500 crore scam brewing in the project to bring water to the twin lakes in Hyderabad from Mallannasagar reservoir ignoring an existing Rs 1,100 crore plan to do the same from the closer Kondapochamma reservoir.
