Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed the officials to visit Erolla Mallamma in Vikarabad district and take necessary steps for the allotment of a house.

Mallamma, an elderly woman, had been living in a toilet granted to her under the Swachch Bharat Mission for the last eight years at Chiguralpalli village in Parigi mandal. The village sarpanch said that Mallamma is a very poor woman. Her husband passed away 20 years ago and she got married her two daughters in the past.

However, one of the daughters' husband died and the daughter came back to her mother and began living with her three children in the same toilet for sometime.

Later, the daughter and her children migrated to Hyderabad.

Now, Mallamma alone lives in the toilet. Even this toilet is about to collapse, the sarpanch said and urged the authorities to sanction her a house site, apart from assisting her in building a house on it.

Seeing a post on Mallamma's plight on X.com, the Chief Minister said that it was disheartening to see such situations. He also directed the officials to do the needful and ensure action for her well-being.
