Revanth to Campaign for MVA in Maharashtra

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has started election preparatory meetings in Maharashtra and has requested Telangana leaders to join the campaign after Dasara in October. The MVA comprises Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena (UBT).

As part of the campaign strategy, the AICC has launched training programmes for hundreds of Congress activists from Telangana who have have been assigned election duties in Assembly constituencies with a notable presence of Telangana-native voters.

The undivided Adilabad and Nizamabad districts border Maharashtra, and many residents from these districts have deep social and family connections with regions like Nanded, Yavatmal, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, and Solapur. A significant number of people from Adilabad and Nizamabad have also settled in these parts of Maharashtra.

Congress leaders anticipate the announcement of poll dates in October with the elections expected to take place in November 2024.

Congress Lok Sabha member from Bhongir Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy attended an election preparatory meeting in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, on Monday.

He told Deccan Chronicle, "Nearly 6,000 activists participated in the meeting, with around 2,000 being Telangana natives, primarily from Adilabad and Nizamabad districts. They were trained on campaign strategies and assigned booth-level responsibilities to engage with voters and rally support for the MVA."

Kiran Kumar Reddy added that the Congress high command had called on key Telangana leaders, including the CM and ministers, to actively participate in the Maharashtra election campaign post-Dasara featuring public meetings and roadshows.
