 Hyderabad: Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy is likely to visit Delhi again this week, ahead of a possible Cabinet expansion in the first or second week of this month.

Congress sources said that the party high command has asked the Chief Minister to come to Delhi again prior to the Cabinet expansion along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to discuss and finalise the names and portfolios of the newly-inducted ministers into the Cabinet.

The high command is also expected to announce the name of new TPCC president in the place of Revanth Reddy in the meeting. Revanth Reddy’s three-year tenure as the TPCC president will end on July 7.

Party sources also said that there will be a reshuffle of portfolios of incumbent ministers in the cabinet along with Cabinet expansion.

Speculations are rife in party circles that Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender will get cabinet berths and minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), who is currently holding portfolio of panchayat raj and rural development, women and child welfare, is likely to be made home minister as part of reshuffling of portfolios.

Revanth Reddy visited Delhi last week and held a series of meetings with the party high command on the Cabinet expansion and the appointment of new TPCC chief. He visited Delhi on June 24 and returned to the city on June 29 after concluding his six-day tour. Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka was also present in Delhi for two days and attended the meetings.

For the TPCC chief post, the ruling party working president, MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, Zahirabad Lok Sabha member Suresh Shetkar, Madhu Yashki Goud from Backward Classes, Mahabubabad Lok Sabha member P Balram Naik from Scheduled Tribes, former MLA S.A. Sampath Kumar from Scheduled Castes are in the race.

For Cabinet berths, Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari from BC Mudiraj community, Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju from Scheduled Tribes, Peddapalli MLA G.Vivekanand, Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar from Scheduled Castes, Bodhan MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy, Mancherial MLA K. Prem Sagar Rao, Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Parigi MLA T. Ram Mohan Reddy are in the race.
