Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has instructed District Collectors to accelerate the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) process, aiming to benefit lakhs of families across the state. During a video conference held on Saturday, the Minister emphasized strict adherence to rules and regulations in land regularization.

During the conference, the minister said LRS process is to be completed within three months. Measures should be taken to eliminate middlemen involvement and protect government lands. Out of 25.70 lakh applications received between August 31 and October 31, 2020, none have been resolved in the past four years. Special teams will be formed in districts to handle applications, with additional staff to be deployed if needed. Multidisciplinary teams comprising Revenue, Irrigation, and Municipal officials will be constituted to review LRS applications. Help desks will be set up in district collectorates and local bodies to address regularization-related issues.
Minister Reddy, participating in a video conference from Bhupalpally district, stated that the government's decision aims to promote planned sustainable development in urban and rural areas. He highlighted that approved layouts would facilitate building permits, bank loans, and property transactions for owners. The Minister urged District Collectors to prioritize these applications and ensure continuous monitoring of the LRS implementation process.
