RPF foils man’s suicide attempt at Secunderabad and James Street line
Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) foiled the attempt of a person to commit suicide on the tracks between Secunderabad and James Street.
The staff was conducting track patrolling when they noticed an individual identified as Narasimhulu, 25, in distress attempting to commit suicide. Upon inquiry, he said he was attempting to take drastic step due to family issues. Narasimhulu, a daily labour from Tummakunta in Ranga Reddy, was brought to the RPF Office in Secunderabad for further assistance.
After counseling him, the RPF personnel handed over Narasimhulu to his family members.
The timely intervention of the RPF personnel not only saved a life but also underscored the importance of mental health awareness and support systems within communities. In 2024, the RPF Secunderabad rescued half a dozen persons from various situations at Secunderabad Railway Station and reunited them with their families.
RPF understands that reuniting with family fills the heart with warmth and the soul with peace, and thus goes miles in ensuring that every missing person is reunited with their family. This operation conducted over trains and railway premises underlines the dedication of RPF in rescuing adults including women who are in need of care and protection.
