RPF wins accolades for retrieving passenger’s missing cash bag

Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Secunderabad Division successfully retrieved a passenger's handbag containing Rs.1.17 lakh in cash, along with credit and debit cards and Aadhar cards, and handed it over to the passenger.

The incident was reported through a rail madad complaint from a passenger regarding a handbag that was forgotten in B1 coach train number 07445 Lingampalli Special Fare Express traveling from Rajahmundry to Secunderabad.

RPF Sub Inspector S.V. Basha along with his team recovered the handbag from on-duty Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) M. Ramesh and informed the passenger, M. Bhagavthgita, who later came to the RPF office at Lingampalli and collected it after securing acknowledgement.

The passenger expressed her gratitude to the vigilant RPF team for their immediate and prompt action. In the year 2024, the RPF retrieved missing or left behind luggage worth Rs.43.88 lakh in 54 incidents and handed them over to passengers under Operation Amanat. This operation highlights the alertness and dedication of the on-duty staff, reinforcing the RPF's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for passengers, thereby enhancing the overall experience and confidence in the railway system.
