Rs 12L Cash Stolen From Vijayawada Bound Bus

Suryapet: Unidentified miscreants stole a bag containing 12 lakh cash from a Vijayawada-bound bus at Gunjaluru of Chivvemla Mandal in the early hours of Suryapet district on Tuesday.
The bag belonged to Vijayawada-based man Kolli Shiva Kumar who was carrying the cash sent by his daughter from the US, police said.
The incident occurred when the driver of the bus took a brief halt in Gunjaluru for passengers to have refreshments.
“Kolli Shiva Kumar, who was traveling to Vijayawada from Hyderabad, left the bag on the bus and went to the washroom. Upon returning, he found that `12 lakh cash kept in the bag was missing,” Chivvemla sub-inspector B. Venkat Reddy said adding that a case was registered and theft was being investigated.
