Hyderabad: In a stern warning, the city police on Wednesday said that whosoever is found guilty of posting false and misleading information about the Sandhya theatre stampede would be prosecuted as per law.

A press release from the city police commissioner’s office said that anyone posting false information and misleading videos on social media about the incident would be dealt with as the police department has already released a video with facts that emerged during their investigation in the form of a video.

“It has come to our attention that some videos showed as if the stampede had taken place even before Allu Arjun's arrival,” the release stated.

False propaganda to defame the police department will be taken seriously. The police department is investigating the case with great commitment as it concerns the death of an innocent woman, while her son is battling for his life, the release said.

They said that if someone has any further evidence or additional information regarding the tragic incident they can approach the police department.
