Hyderabad: Telangana police here on Thursday said severe punishment would be given if pub or bar owners’ encourage drugs or marijuana to customers.

In a tweet, Director-General of Police Ravi Gupta said, “Punishments are very severe if pub or bar owners promote drugs and marijuana. The Telangana government and Telangana police are determined to prevent the spread of drugs and marijuana.

As the State government took a serious note of drug menace, the police department vowed to eradicate it completely, by taking stern action against those involved in it. The local police along with Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB) are cracking the whip on smugglers.

Two days ago, the TGNAB along with Madhapur police apprehended four persons, who were in possession of marijuana. As many as 1.5 kgs substance was seized from the possession of the arrested persons.
