Stray dog attacks 21 in Rajanna Sircilla
All the 21 injured people were rushed to the government area hospital in Sircilla for treatment
KARIMNAGAR: A stray dog went on a rampage, attacking 21 people during the Venu Gopala Swamy Jatara in Yellareddypet mandal headquarters, Rajanna Sircilla district, on Saturday. The victims included women, elderly individuals, and children.
The dog, described as rabid, emerged from nearby bushes and began attacking people indiscriminately. In one instance, it entered a house and attacked a woman working inside. Panic ensued as some people fled to avoid being bitten, while others tried to fend off the dog.
All the 21 injured people were rushed to the government area hospital in Sircilla for treatment. However, tensions escalated when it was discovered that the hospital initially lacked anti-rabies medication. After a delay of half an hour, the staff arranged the medicine and began administering treatment to the victims.
Frightened locals have urged municipal officials to capture the stray dog immediately to prevent further attacks and ensure public safety.
