Stray Dog Menace: Govt and GHMC Asked to File Status Report
Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court directed the state government and GHMC to file the status report on the work done by them in regard to eradicating the dog-human conflict by September 9.
In the suo motu PIL over deaths of a child and an old woman after they were mauled by stray dogs, the government and GHMC on August 2 submitted that they were implementing statutory obligations under the Animal Birth Control Rules 2023 and submitted the proposal to establish dog rehabilitation centres and operating dog-catching vehicles round the clock.
The GHMC stated that it was ing develop a mobile application to monitor the real time data on catching street dogs, registration of pet dogs and number of sterilisations and vaccinations that have been done. Recording the same, the High Court directed them to file a status report in a month.
