Suryapet: Suryapet Town-II police arrested six people on Monday and seized 1.1 quintals of ganja from their possession during a routine vehicle check on the outskirts of Suryapet.

They were identified as Bacheli Mohana Krishna, Kora Atchuth Raji, Sheik Kasim, Hukkavai Vijay Kumar, Hukkavai Shubam, and Bommagani Srikanth, all residents of Andhra Pradesh.

Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh, addressing the media, stated that the police stopped and inspected two cars based on suspicion during a vehicle checkpoint. The search revealed that the accused were transporting 1.1 quintals of ganja in the vehicles.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to buying the ganja from a supplier in Malkangiri, Odisha, and were en route to deliver it to Solapur, Maharashtra. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details about the smuggling network.
