Tahsildar held in graft case in Wanaparthy

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Wednesday caught S. Srinivasulu, a Tahsildar and Joint Sub-Registrar of Gopalpet Mandal in Wanaparthy district, red handed when he allegedly demanded and accepted bribe of Rs.8,000 from a complainant for doing an official favour.

Srinivasulu demanded a bribe from the complainant Mudavath Pandu of Zinkalabeedu thanda in Wanaparthy district for conversion of agricultural land of the complainant's wife into non-agricultural land (NALA).

The ACB officials recovered the tainted bribe amount from the possession Srinivasulu. Both hand fingers of Srinivasulu, which came into contact with a tainted bribe amount, yielded positive results in the chemical test.

They said Srinivasulu performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. The ACB officials produced Srinivasulu before the special court for ACB cases here after which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
