Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Sunday advised the Telangana government to rope in the Army and cancel leaves of all government employees to assist in relief works following heavy rains that have lashed the state for over 24 hours straight.
Speaking to reporters in Nalgonda, the Siddipet MLA said, “Steps should be taken to see that tanks and canals which are full do not breach. The BRS cadre will participate in relief works and help the needy. As it is being predicted that the rains would continue for the next two days, people should be alert. They should not go to the tanks and canals which are flowing dangerously."
He said helicopters must be employed to rescue stranded persons.
