Telangana: 20 crest gates of Nagarjunasagar dam lifted

Nalgonda: Twenty crest gates of the Nagarjunasagar dam were lifted on Thursday as inflows to the project have once again increased by over three lakh cusecs. The dam received over 3.15 lakh cusecs and discharged all of it. The project is full with water standing at 590 feet. About 8,280 cusecs of water was being released to the left canal and 9,500 cusecs to the right canal. Meanwhile, Farmers staged protests at Kukkadam in Madugulapally, impacting traffic on the Narketpally-Addhanki state highway, demanding repairs to the low-level flood canal and release of water. The canal had breached on August 7 after which water release was stopped.
