Karimnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday trapped a tahsildar, a middleman and a driver of the revenue department while they were accepting Rs 10,000 from a farmer for doing an official work in Peddapalli district on Saturday.

The tahsildar was identified as Zahid Pasha, the middleman as Dasari Vishnu, son of village revenue assistant (VRA) Dasari Mallesham, and the driver as Amjad.

Tirupati, the complainant, approached revenue officials for mutation of his father’s property on the outskirts of Pandilla in Kalva Srirampur mandal in Survey No. 645/A.

The tahsildar and the middleman demanded Rs 25,000 from Tirupati for doing the work. Tirupati had earlier paid Rs 15,000 to the tahsildar. However, when the tahsildar and the VRA’s son demanded an extra Rs 10,000 for the job, Tirupati approached the ACB.

As per instructions of the ACB officials, Tirupati handed over Rs 10,000 to the VRA’s son and the driver when the sleuths raided the office and caught them red-handed.
