Telangana: AEOs to visit farmers homes, resolve loan waiver issues

A video conference with AEOs and district-level agriculture officers will be held every Tuesday for redressal of problems faced by the farmers in getting crop loan waivers up to Rs 2 lakh.

Adilabad: Agriculture extension officers (AEOs) will visit every house and collect details of farmers who did not get crop loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh and will upload the details on the state agriculture portal.

A video conference with AEOs and district-level agriculture officers will be held every Tuesday for redressal of problems faced by the farmers in getting crop loan waivers up to Rs 2 lakh.

The state government took serious note of the farmers facing problems in getting their crop loan waived up to Rs 2 lakh.

The state government will come out with an app for the purpose and farmers’ details must be uploaded onto the app so that their details will be cross-checked and mistakes rectified, if any.

State-level agriculture officials told AEOs during the video conference that modalities are being prepared for the details to be collected from farmers.

The AEOs will collect Aadhar numbers, details of bank accounts from where they got crop loans, details of interest incurred on crop loans, how much farmer-owned land and other details during the house-to-house survey.

AEOs attended the video conference at Rythu Vedikas in a cluster on the crop loan waiver held by top officials of the agriculture department from Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Many AEOs of Bela cluster have attended a video conference in connection with crop loan waiver in Rythu Vedika in Kapsi village in Bela mandal in Adilabad district.

District agriculture officers will coordinate with AEOs about updating the details of farmers in the app to be used for the redressal of the farmers’ problems.
