Telangana: Birdwatching event at Thurkam Cheruvu in Nirmal
Adilabad: The forest department will conduct a birdwatching event at Thurkam CheruvuThurkam Cheruvu in Mamada mandal of Nirmal district on November 16. Along with chief wildlife warden Elusing Meru, selected birdwatchers from Hyderabad are expected to participate in the event.
Unlike in the past, forest officials are not inviting everyone to the event. Instead, they are planning to launch a Tiger Safari for tourists at designated points within the Kawal Tiger Reserve. The department will commence the Tiger Safari from Gangapur, I Love Kawal, Jannaram, and Udumpur gates.
However, the forest department is limiting the birdwatching event to a select few rather than inviting all interested individuals to register. The department will provide homestays for birdwatchers at Thurkam Cheruvu, where they will interact with local adivasis.
Dhimmadhurthy FRO Srinivas Rao is coordinating all arrangements for the birdwatching event. Interested participants can obtain further details by contacting him at 9396622338.
The department aims to bring nature lovers closer to nature, birds, and wildlife while highlighting conservation efforts in the Kawal Tiger Reserve. Concurrently, the department is also striving to attract tourists to the Kawal Tiger Reserve by organising cycling tours and tiger safaris.
