Telangana BJP Sets 50 Lakh Member Target

HYDERABAD: The BJP is aiming at enrolling over 50 lakh members against the present 11.85 lakh, in the membership drive that will begin on September 3 , one day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent leaders enroll themselves in the national capital.

Addressing a press conference, state BJP membership committee convener N. Ramchander Rao along with party secretary Kolli Madhavi and Goli Madhusudhan Reddy, members of the panel, said the party has decided to adopt four methods including making a missed call which provides a link to fill the details, in a fixed proforma format, through Namo App and QR Code to enroll members.

The membership drive will be launched in districts from September 4 and in mandals from September 6 and the first phase of membership drive will continue till September 25.

Ramchander Rao said the party had conducted a number of workshops for the party leaders and workers to train them about the membership drive. The final workshop for the activists will be held on Friday. The party has decided to make at least 200 members in each booth in the areas and regions where the party is strong. The party high command set a target of 50 crore membership all over the country from the existing 18 crore members, he said.
