Hyderabad: Hundreds of activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), youth wing of the BJP, came out from the state BJP office at Nampally and nearby streets and staged a protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his alleged controversial remarks about Hindus in Parliament recently.

The activists burnt an effigy of Rahul Gandhi and shouted slogans against the Congress. The police present in large numbers lathicharged the activists to disperse them. BJYM Telangana president S. Mahender condemned the lathicharge on activists who he said were protesting in a peaceful manner. “It is unbecoming on the part of Rahul Gandhi to call Hindus violent,” Mahender said.
