Warangal: The Kakatiya mega textile park in Warangal district will be transformed into a role model in the country. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held discussions with big companies in this regard during his visit to Korea, said revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

The in-charge minister accompanied by MP Kadiam Kavya, MLC Basawaraju Saraiah, MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, KUDA chairman E. Venkatram Reddy, district collector Praveenya laid foundation stones for the construction of a government degree college building at a cost of Rs 5 crore and developmental works under AMRUT 2.0 scheme at a cost of Rs 11.74 crore in Parkala constituency of Hanamkonda district on Sunday.

Minister Srinivas Reddy said several big companies are going to establish their firms in the textile park with the initiative taken by the CM. Very soon representatives of respective companies will visit the textile park. Along with the textile park, the state government is committed to all round development of the constituency.

The government is going to acquire land from the farmers and people by paying compensation and without causing inconvenience to them for the greenfield express highway going through Hanamkonda and Warangal.

Former chief minister Y. S. Rajashekar Reddy had sanctioned Rs 41 crore for Konayamakula minor lift irrigation project in the part of Jala-Yagnam and even finalized the agency for starting work for supplying water to around 14,000 acres. But the BRS government by increasing the cost of the project to Rs 114 crore, started the work and even purchased motors, but did not complete the works, he alleged.

The Congress government will complete the pending works of the project on a war footing for the welfare of farmers of this region, he assured.

He ordered officials to shift the government hospital situated in the old building as it is in a dilapidated condition and asked them to complete the construction of the new hospital building as early as possible.

The previous government had not taken up the drainage canal works scientifically because of which whenever there is rainfall, floodwater mixes with drainage water entering into several colonies in Parakala town. Officials must take up the drainage works to prevent such kinds of problems in future, he added.
