Telangana: Cold Wave Grips Nizamabad, Kamareddy Districts
Nizamabad: A sharp drop in temperatures has impacted the residents of Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts, particularly affecting elders and children. On Thursday, Bibipet in Kamareddy district recorded the lowest temperature at 11.8°C, followed by Lachapet at 12.1°C and Bommandevpally at 12.4°C.
Severe cold conditions persist between 5 pm and 9 am, forcing many morning walkers to either discontinue their routine or delay it until after 8 am. The government polytechnic college ground, a popular walking spot in Nizamabad, has seen a decline in early-morning visitors.
Doctors have advised people to avoid venturing outdoors during the chilly morning hours. Meanwhile, government and private hospitals have reported an increase in cases of cold-related ailments, with outpatient and inpatient numbers rising significantly in both Nizamabad and Kamareddy district hospitals over the past four days.
Thick fog has blanketed both districts, causing challenges for vehicle users. Drivers are navigating cautiously, using headlights and blinking lights to avoid accidents, particularly on National Highways 44 and 63, which pass through Nizamabad district.
