Telangana: Floods and road breaches hit Adilabad district hard

Adilabad: Heavy rains created havoc in the erstwhile Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Nirmal districts over last two days with many roads breached and standing crops inundated.
A primary health centre in Kubheer was inundated following heavy rains, raising the difficulties of patients and their attendants.
Road connectivity was badly hit in villages since floodwater overflowed low-lying bridges on the outskirts of Jhari (B) village in Thanur mandal in Nirmal district.
People of Gundegaon village faced hardships with the water of Palsikar Rangarao project entering their houses. Road breaches affected 10 villages including Pardi ( B), Chatha, Mahagaon, Rangashivini and Holta and other low-lying areas.
An RTC bus of Bhainsa depot was stranded between two tanks of Limba– Ola villages in Kuntala mandal in Nirmal district. The incident took place when the RTC bus was proceeding toward Bhainsa from Suryapur village. The bus reached a safer place after the floodwater receded.
The Penganga river overflowed at the inter-state bridge between Anandpur of Jainad and Digris of Maharashtra and the road connectivity was badly affected between the two states.
The approach road of Renkonivagu was breached due to floodwater in Khanapur and the damage affected many villages near Khanapur town and 10 villages in Dilawarpur. Traffic came to a halt at Gandhinagar due to floodwater overflowing the approach road.
Floodwater entered Basar temple premises and devotees faced difficulties when rainwater seeped from the ceiling of thermocol sheets in Aksharabhaya Mandapams. Temple staff placed dust bins and buckets to collect seeping rainwater.
Three persons suffered injuries when they were struck by lightning in agriculture fields in Saleguda village in Asifabad mandal in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
