Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court on Friday came down heavily on the state government for delaying the counter affidavit in a PIL challenging the free allotment of 3.7 acres of land to the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre( IAMC) at Raidurg. The bench comprising Justice K. Lakshman and Justice K. Sujana imposed costs of ₹1,000 per day on the government from Friday till it files a counter.

The money has to be paid to the Telangana State Legal Services Authority.

The PIL challenged the free land allotment to IAMC and allotment ₹3 crore per year to the IAMC Trust and the circular issued by the government to transfer to the IAMC, pending cases which required arbitration.

Last November ,the court had issued notices to the Chief Secretary, revenue and law and justice department and the IAMC to file counters in two weeks. The IAMC has filed its counters, but the government departments did not do so.
