Telangana govt. prepares for Christmas celebrations on Dec 21
Hyderabad: Preparations are underway for the government’s Christmas celebrations on December 21, with ₹2 lakh allocated for each constituency and ₹1 lakh within GHMC limits. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will join the main event at 6 pm at LB Stadium here.
Celebrations will be organised at 200 locations within GHMC limits and 95 locations in rural constituencies. Secunderabad Cantonment has been allocated ₹10 lakh for the festivities.
To accommodate attendees, 100 buses, 20 mobile toilet vans, 100 temporary toilets, medical camps, and ambulances have been arranged. Around 10,000 Christians from 30 constituencies are expected to participate. Officials have been directed to ensure smooth execution and adherence to protocols.
A coordination meeting was held at LB Stadium with officials from GHMC, police, revenue, R&B, electricity, TSRTC, health, and information departments to ensure seamless arrangements.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Kranti Wesley (MD, minority finance), Dr Harish (commissioner, information department), Yasmeen Basheer (director, Horticulture), Sabita (MD, Christian Finance Corporation), and Vikram Singh Mann (additional commissioner of police).
