Hyderabad: The State government here on Wednesday accorded administrative sanction for an amount of Rs.204.85 crore to Director of Medical Education for taking up civil works in Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad and Kakatiya Medical College, Hanumakonda through Telangana State Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC).

The government sanctioned the amount after holding discussions with the striking junior doctors, paving the way to call off their stir observed in support of their demands on Tuesday midnight. Following an assurance given to junior doctors that an order would be issued, while holding discussions with them, the State government issued a G.O., according administrative sanction for Rs.204.85 crore.

The above expenditure would be met from Head of Account “4210-01-110-25-SH(22) Construction of Medical Colleges and Hospitals -530-531" and the Director of Medical Education, TGMSIDC would take necessary action accordingly, according to Christina Z.Chongthu, Secretary to Government. For the last few days, the junior doctors observed a strike in support of the eight demands including paying stipend.
