Telangana HC Approves BRS Protest on Tribal Women Issue

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court accorded permission to the BRS to conduct a peaceful protest meeting at the mandal revenue office of Mahbubabad on November 25, against the alleged atrocities of the Vikarabad police against tribal women.
The court imposed the condition that the meeting should be conducted between 11 am an 2 pm and not more than 1,000 participants would be allowed.
BRS youth president Muralidhar approached the court stating that the police had rejected their application for permission to hold the dharna on Thursday. M. Roopender, counsel for the petitioner, said that the police had rejected the BRS application and directed the petitioner to approach the district collector. The police also did not give any acknowledgement to his application, the petitioner said.
