Telangana HC defers orders on ICAI-Vijaysai tiff
Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court reserved its orders in the interim application filed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which challenged the single judge's order restraining it from initiating proceedings against YSRC MP V. Vijaysai Reddy for his alleged misconduct in his capacity as financial advisor and chartered accountant to the former chief minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on whom the CBI and ED had filed cases for alleged quid-pro-quo transactions.
In the interim application before the division bench, the ICAI requested to suspend the orders of the single judge. The ICAI argued that the Telangana High Court had no territorial jurisdiction to deal with the writ petition filed by Vijaysai Reddy, in which he had requested the single judge to set aside the ICAI's disciplinary proceedings against him.
