Telangana HC Orders Completion of Filmnagar Housing Society Elections

 Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has directed the director of cooperative societies and Hyderabad district cooperative society to complete the elections to the Filmnagar Cooperative Housing Society. The elections were stalled on June 13, after aspirants and submitted their nomination papers.

P. Uday Bhasker, son of actor-politician Babu Mohan approached the High Court on the matter. Senior counsel R.N. Hemendranath Reddy, appearing for the petitioner, said that the election authority did not have the power to postpone the polls, unless there was a breakdown of law and order or a natural calamity.

Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy directed the authorities to forthwith resume the election procedure and complete the process as per scheduled in the notification
