Hyderabad: Health minister Damodar Rajanarasimha has directed task force committees to conduct regular inspections in private and corporate hospitals to ensure adherence to health standards. The minister emphasised the importance of monitoring hospital conditions and called for monthly inspection reports.

The minister directed food security officers to inspect diet canteens in both government and private hospitals to ensure quality and hygiene. Heads of all departments in the health sector were asked to visit district hospitals at least twice a month to review human resources, attendance, medical equipment, medicines, sanitation, and patient diets.

During a meeting with health officials at the Secretariat on Saturday, focusing on improving healthcare in tribal areas, Rajanarsimha directed officials to prioritise the health of pregnant women by maintaining calendars with Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) details. He advised that pregnant women in these areas be moved to nearby hospitals a week before their due date and provided with birth waiting rooms.

The minister also ordered the installation of biometric attendance systems in all government hospitals.
